Thoughts on the Epistle of Jude 1

30.04.07

I didn’t say whether I did start to read the Bible, good news I have!

I chose to start my Bible study on the Epistle of Jude, firstly because it is short and secondly because the ministry 2tim2-2.com has notes for me to compare!

“Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, To those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ” – Jude 1

I was just chewing on this Word today, savouring the sweetness of the phrase, “called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ”, it is wonderful.

Did you know that those that God have called will ultimately be glorified! (Romans 8:30)

We are dearly loved in God the Father!

And we are kept for Jesus Christ, we are in God’s hands and he will keep us. Isn’t it comforting to know that the trials and temptations we face, we do not face alone? God keeps us!

I don’t know what to say, don’t got much to say, only to savour God’s goodness, because he called us and loves us and keeps us. Amazing grace. Let me savour that amazing grace!

The Lord Is Good And Has A Sense of Humour

30.04.07

Sometime last week, I wanted to start on Inductive Bible Study (IBS) on my own. I had brought Jenn’s copy of Kay Arthur’s How To Study Your Bible, intent on doing some sort of Bible study.

Before starting to studying I also read a sermon by Pastor John Piper, titled ‘Open My Eyes That I May See’, which is part of Psalm 119:18.

After reading that sermon, I memorised and prayed Psalm 119:18 everytime I read God’s Word. I prayed the exact words of that verse, “Open my eyes Lord that I may see wonderful things from your law”.

Did you know God answers prayer?

You see I haven’t been able to sleep well for the past few nights, and I’ve been wondering why, asking God why I can’t fall asleep and why I wake up at unearthly hours. (3:07am yesterday and 5:17am today)

Then I remembered today, reading in that sermon Psalm 119:147, it says “I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words”.

I see now, why I couldn’t sleep. Hahaha. Hallelujah, praise the Lord, I am grateful to God for being my personal alarm clock, nothing happens without God allowing it.

The more I think about it, the cooler it gets, God literally opened my eyes! Hahaha!

Frustration to Lost

24.04.07

I play hardcore music to let the speakers vent my frustration, until it becomes noise then I feel lost like being barraged by sonic waves, I change to really really sad and quiet music.

Underoath Writes Lives

19.04.07

“Can you feel your heart beat racing
Can you taste the fear in her sweat?
You’ve done this wrong, it’s too far gone
These sheets tell of regret
I admit that I’m just a fool for you
I’m just a fool for you”

- Words from Underoath’s A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White

“Held captive, I’m a prisoner
In the back room where the water leaks and I’m oh, so cold
Command me on what to do, but we both know neither you or I are in
control”

- Words from Underoath’s A Moment Suspended In Time

“Right now we’re just looking for the exit”

- Words from Underoath’s Reinventing Your Exit

“Drowning in my sleep, I’m drowning in my sleep
Drowning in my sleep, I’m drowning in my sleep”

- Words from Underoath’s Its Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door

“Oh sweet angel of mercy
With your grace like the morning
Wrap your loving arms around me
And oh sweet angel of mercy
With your grace like the morning
Wrap your loving arms around me”

- Words from Underoath’s Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape

Dreaming Awake

14.04.07

I know I miss my father when I imagined that he was in the house I was in.

I had just woken up from a nap and I thought I heard my dad talking, outside my room, my heart skipped and I wanted to run out there and greet him.

Then I realised, we were a couple thousand miles apart.

But like Chick Benetto’s mother said, I quote from memory, “You can never lose your mother”.

You also can never lose your father.

I love my mother and father.

100 Million iPods Sold

11.04.07

Apple has just sold 100 million iPods! The iPod has come a long way since the first piece was sold more than 5 years ago.

John Mayer was quoted as saying that the iPod kept digital music has albums and songs rather than folders and files, so true right?

Read all about it here!

Good job Apple! Thanks for the revolutionary products!
